Scolpita (skol-PEE-tah) is a white field crossed by grey veining with hard, defined edges, the contrast closer to carved line than to soft diffusion. That definition is what lets it sit in traditional and contemporary rooms equally, since the pattern reads as structure rather than ornament. A disciplined white for surfaces meant to be looked at.
